Tea or coffee?
Tea. Tea. Tea.
There is nothing like a warm cuppa. Unlike coffee, it chirps you, without the after signs of grogginess. Despite having so many coffee houses around, it’s a pity we don’t have enough tea boutiques.
Enters The Tea Place by Manjushree.
A delightful little Parisian place for tea quaffing folks, it offers a variety of gourmet, exquisite teas. No viscous dhoodh-kaam-patti concoction here. Or the heavily milked with crushed ginger and spices. Which is brilliant because tea is so much more than that.
Jasmine green tea is what we started with. It comes in a fancy French press, accompanied with fancier cutlery and a brew-timer. Mildly scented, naturally sweet with that sharp waft of jasmine scent, I sipped this and decided to go for the whole ‘high tea’.
And when it came, it left me awed.
The portions are huge. The tea because of the hot water refills gave us company till the end. Royal Rose Earl Grey is the next tea pot we asked for. This one, you could drink by the litres with all that soothing rose dancing around in the flavor.
The accompaniments, I assumed was from the Red Moon Bakery and I was right. The cakes-lemon, chocolate and classic were soft and moist. The quiches were over-heated, though. But the scones with all that butter and jam got everything right. The biscuits were usual.
The interiors are tasteful- Its spacious, quiet and clean.
When you sip your tea, enjoy the yummy goodies and soak the beautiful ambiance- it’s like cupid got down to work with its arrow in your mouth.
The teas here are every bit worth falling for- you get top flavours which you can brew accordingly and soak yourself for a warm fill. Also you can buy their tea tins and tea bags for a good kick of antioxidants. Price-wise it is not like a regular tea shop, the quality however does match fairly well.
Name anything-oolong, white, green, this place stocks everything with different flavors. A definite visit for tea evangelists, I am so glad to see places like these coming up, kudos to the team.
